Which experiment will happen this week, my weak stomached friends? I'm sure you've seen the pattern by now, or, I may be giving you too much credit. I wonder what would happen if the mortal authorities saw one of "you" running the tests? Till the weekend.

due to the server bug, I can't check what I said in previous posts. So as for bashing, just to make it clear: 1bashing = 1 bashing to vamp, 2bash=1bash-vamp, 3bash=2bash-vamp Healing: 1bash=1blood, 2bash=1blood, 3bash=2blood hope this helps

As for status, call it a house rule or don't Adam, the way I said it works is the way it will be. As for Jonathan, I don't think he gets to keep his prince status b/c he lost it before Joshua made the ruling for keeping status. However, you do get to keep the status for any position you held after that. BTW, the keeping of status after you've left the position is a major deviation from the standard cam practice and is the perfect excuse for other cities to not acknowledge the status comming from lansing. Also, if a certian archon hears about it...

Well, I'm back on duty, changlings - let me know how things went. As for bashing damage: Vampires halve the damage taken, rounding down, and the cost to heak is also halved, rounding up. Couple of examples: Billy bob the human and Ray bob the vampire both get pushed off a 4 story building and take 10 bashing from the fall (1+2+3+4) They both go crunch on the pavement with Billy bob filling all 8 health levels with bashing and 2 spilling over to make the 2 "healthy" levels leathal damage. This would result in Billy bob being knocked unconcious for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, Ray bob halves the damage to 5 bashing, leaving him at his third bruised level he then can get up and limp away to spend the next 3 rounds (and 3 blood) healing the damage.

Severe punishment shall accompany the breaking of this declaration. Also, the position of Scourge is now open, and I am accepting applications for such. Yes, this is a skip week, and we will be holding the fae LARP, open for everyone. For those of you who are planning or considering coming to this, just a few other things. First off, we will be offering additional freebie points for people who wish to come to the LARP in costume to the tune of 3 additional freebies. To get this award, you must come *in costume*, which in this case means your characters chimerical voile (the clothing they wear that they wear in their fae forms). In other words, jeans and a T-shirt isn't going to fly for this award, even if that is what your character is wearing in the mortal world. Second point; some people have been asking to have access to some of the things listed on my previous post about fae (see below if you forgot). If you want us to consider whatever thing you want, submit us a character concept and reason for why you want this particular restricted thing BEFORE the LARP. Coming in the day of the LARP wanting to play a ghille due of house balor with naming just isn't going to happen. Keep in mind as well that submitting it isn't a guarantee that we'll allow it; it depends on the concept and whether it'll fit in the game. If not, maybe when we have a sequel game. Third and final point, mainly for all you newbies to changeling. The game's open for everyone, and will be oriented in part along introducing some of the basic concepts of the game. We'll be giving out basic stuff on fae society and how to play a fae at character gen on Saturday, so in otherwords, if you haven't ever played before, don't feel like you can't come. We're more than willing to help people out. Finally, a fourth note (okay, I lied about 3 being the last); character gen will start at 6, cuz we'd like to get started by between 7 and 8. (yeah, like its going to happen, but still). Anyway, hope to see ya all there.

This is indeed to be a skip week, except for the Fae who have an On week followed by a whole mess of skip weeks. For clarification (and there has been a lot of confusion on this issue) the bashing damage done by firearms:
Are 2 points of bashing immediately converted to one health level of damage or does one point of healing just cover 2 bashing? In other words if someone gets shot and hit 4 times in a round with a pistol do they get torped before they get the chance to spend 4 blood to heal the 8 levels of bashing or are they just 4 health levels down? If only 4 levels down do they then only spend 2 blood to heal it? What about things that only do 1 bashing?

Here's a piece of advice, people. Whenever you get in that oh-so-gothy mood, you hate the world, want to dress all in black (now wait just a damn minute), climb up a clock tower, and just start shooting, there's a better way to deal with these feelings.
Dress all in black, as you are wont to do (I don't know what you're talking about), find some suburban area or small town, and share the following words of wisdom in an exceedingly loud and obnoxious voice:
I'm so darkety Dark dark! Dark, Boo!
Okay, that's the last time I listen to Slapnut... I'm never eating that color mushroom again...

Are the status rules you pointed out house rules, John? If they aren't, they deviate quite a bit from what I've read - both Live Action and Table Top. A template Justicar has 5 status, while a no name Elder would have 3(LotN: Cam Guide). It doesn't make sense for someone other than the Prince to have more status than an Archon.

Um, John, just a quick question for ya. The keeping of status was actually worked out in-character. Joshua made a declaration that status from old positions would carry over (yes, yet another deviation from standard Cam law, I love Brujah) even after they left the position. The new Prince has not recinded that declaration. I understand rules-wise, it wouldn't normally carry over... ruling please? :)
Dave Crampoton <>
- Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at 12:23:04 (EDT)
da-dada-DA. It's abitration man! Adam, you arn't familiar as to how I've got status set up in this larp soo...let me do the quoting. Status is pretty standardized across the cam, therefore there is little distinction between cam status and city status. If a prince and harpy or another city agree, some or all of your status can be recognized in this other city. If no status is recocnized from the other city, this is effectively saying that the prince is an idiot and they don't deserve to be called cam. The usual case is that status from your current position (other than prince) isn't counted (you ain't got the job there). As for princes, archons and justicars - All their status is recognised wherever they go (in the cam). Last bits: Status is a trait like any other, therefore it is capped by generation. This means that most archons have about 13 status and justicars have 15-20, and a thirteenth gen prince can get no more than 10. Also when a character leaves a position in the city, they DO NOT get to keep the status. Remember most status additions come from primogen or princes and must be publicly announced.
ST John
<>
- Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at 12:09:27 (EDT)
Actually as it goes, Adam's character would have the status in this matter. He has Cammilla wide status, alot of times a prince will give someone status and it will just stay in the city even though it's supposed to be Cam wide. his status also presides over erics because he's at a higher position. It'd be like The seretary of defense come's to lansing, in some matters he has more pull than the mayor in some matters where as the mayor has more pull and direction in other matters.
Zach
<>
- Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at 12:03:04 (EDT)
Just a little question... since your character has come to Lansing, and your business with the Harpy is a Lansing matter, wouldn't Lansing status apply more than camarilla-wide? Since you're in Lansing? If Eric's character were to go to another city, he'd be screwed, but since he's here in Lansing, wouldn't he have the advantage?
Dave Crampton <>
- Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at 09:45:43 (EDT)
The allowing of status retention after you step down from a position is unique to that city - it does not transfer to Camarilla status as a whole. Was the status retention status you received from an Archon or Justicar? Like I said, 10 traits is more than the Justicars have. Of course, Camarilla wide recognition of a Sheriff or Scourge(in Lansing?!?!) may be something unique to Fortress, I have been gone for a while.

Very well. I am here in Lansing as an advisor due to the Sabbat incursion. A majority of the city consists of younger kindred without sufficient experience in fighting the Sabbat. However, as for the matter I have with the Harpy, I would prefer to keep that between myself and the Harpy.(OOC - Status you receive in a city doesn't transfer to status you have in the Camarilla as a whole, unless given by an Archon or Justicar. You could have 20 status in Lansing, but I guaruntee you that the Justicars have no idea who you are, as they have about FIVE to SEVEN Camarilla wide. The status this character has(3) was given by an Archon. Camarilla wide, most kindred have one, maybe two, unless they're Prince of that Domain. Marcus Vitel, for example has more than some of the Justicars, but he's also a better political monster [and about 1500 yrs. older] than any of them.)

Check with Archon Mallary of my reasoning in being in Lansing. However, if you should bother the Archon with such a trivial matter, the Archon will be most upset. Alright, a lot of people have expressed an interest in the fae LARP we will be running in the next off week for the fortress LARP. As such, I thought I'd post some info so people could have ideas on what will be allowed for play. 1. the PCs will be working to establish a court in Lansing for the parliment of dreams, and at the behest of High Queen Faerylith. As such, think of characters that would be chosen by Faerylith, as well as reasons why the character would be itnerested in going on this quest. 2. Noble houses will be allowed for both commonor kiths and sidhe. However, given who is sponsoring the quest, houses will be for the most part restricted to the seelie noble houses, ie no balor, ailil, or leanhean. Note that being a member of a seelie house does NOT mean the character has to be seelie himself. Members of unseelie houses will be considered if they have a plausible reason for be accepted for the quest. 3. Standard kiths (ie the ones from the main book) only. Numbers of PCs in each kith will be limited, depending on teh total number of players. If you have some kith you really want to play, email blodgett or I ahead of time so we can note that. 4. Titles. No character can start with a title higher than 2, though both sidhe and commoner kiths can buy up to this level. Other backrounds, such as holdings, will likely be inappropriate given the nature of the game and won't be allowed without good reason. 5. Powers. No powers above intermediate. Further, odd or rare powers such as naming, contempt, chronos, delusion, or metamorphosis will be highly restricted. 6. There are no restrictions on playing either seelie or unseelie characters. However, no shadow court PCs will be accepted, nor any thallain. That's about it. If you have questions, comments, etc. Email blodgett or I and we'll try to answer them. Hope to see you all there.

Well we've got a number of ineresting comments so far. As for the skip week we were talking about 2 weeks from last game. However upon considderation, I think many of us will either have plans or should get some for the weekend of holloween. I don't have a calender with me right now soI'll have to wait a little to figure out a date. Some people have issues with the stregnth of some of the wepons being handed out, actually so do I. I want to put a new house rule up for debate. Make the guns more like table top, have them do bashing damage (to vampires) for their core damage value and lethal for the additional damage from mass trauma and high caliber. By this ruling a .44 magnum would still do 2-3 lethal against a human or lupine, but against a vampire it would do 1 bashing (bashing damage is halved for vampires) and a simple test for an additional lethal. A shotgun at close range would do 1 bashing 1 lethal, a submachine gun would do 1 bashing normally and 2 bashing at full auto (2 or 3 lethal to a lupine or human). lemme know what you think.

Who is this "watcher" person, and where is his spell checker? I find his anti-Sabbat comments coupled with his assertation that we should act like gods paradoxical. If our esteemed prince Joshua is leaving us in our time of need, does this not reflect on our poor choice to begin with? I hope in the future we will be more careful in choosing our leaders. (out of character comment: If I am wrong about the prince leaving, then disregard all comments concerning him.) I would also like to request a meeting between myself, Mr. Mordain and Mr. Nightstar. (ie: George, call me concerning Downtime)

First of all Zachary isn't there a rule of upholding some sort of rule amoungst our kind on this board? And second I would like to state that I was on my way to help. I am also sick and tired of everyone assuming it was me who did something not wanting to admit that it could be someone within they're own ranks. You people need to relize that we are here to survive and look out for whats best for us. The getting the hevans out of the city was good for everyone but no. Once we think of someone else's well being as well as our own. Screw it, we're sick and tired of saving your ass and almost getting killed in the prosess. Your on your own from now on.

As hard as a try not to carry grudges, Cassius, you always seem to remind me that you are worth it. Unfortunately I must advise all kindred of humane nature to guard themselves. The Settites have proven time and again they are capable of stirring up mischief. Their ability to obfuscate being the primary means as well as their total lack of conscience.
If any Camarilla or allied Kindred know their history I would be happy to share what I have been able to find out through my own investigations. I hope everyone, like myself, has had their fill of Setite "surprises".

Alas, I have departed the city of Lansing. I will miss some of you, others I will not. Do not fear for me, for I am in a far better place. Good luck in raising the city of Lansing to the pinnacles that you seek.
