Moon Beasts, I have information I would give to you in person on the condition you don't kill me first, ask questions later. I have spoken with some of the Gangrel I know, and I do believe the information I have would be of great interest to you. Feel free to mail me or call. Prince Asserax knows the number.

The name Joshua was given to us by multiple members of the sabbat vermin in your city. His name was confirmed by the spirit of the cementary. If in fact he indeed hides behind false names like most of you walking dead is of no concern to us. He will be dealt with, with or without your aid. If you wish to be spared his fate then leave the information we seek on this board. That is all.
Moon Beasts - Monday, November 27, 2000 at 17:43:42 (EST)
There are no Sabbat in the city who are known as Joshua. There is one known as Joseph, he leads the Sabbat in Lansing. If you leave an address, I'll mail you specifics.

We seek information about a creature named Joshua. He is of Clan Lasambra of the Sabbat. It is confirmed he is a leader of multiple packs of sabbat. He is responsible for assaults on our home as well as the creature who resides over the cemetary. Anyone who comes out with information about him will be considered an ally. Any who hold back, if discovered, will be considered our enemy. I believe none of you wish that. All contact must be done via this board for security reasons. Rapid responses are appreciated. Be wise and come forward. Good day to you all.

Noddist in nature eh? Like the world ending and such by the hands of our four-fathers or something like that? Now Now Steven, that just could not possibly fly in our meeting place. Maybe in a side room where the laws there are still upheld, but not in the main hall. Other just like myslef do not ap[preciate such dribble nor do we care to have it flaunted infront of us like that. To us it's just unmaterialistic bullshit.

Mr. Farewell,
I do not fall for the same trick twice. The lore that I am planning to discuss is Noddist in nature. I assume you are referring to Lillith when you use the word whore, and you assume that worshipping will be going on. On both counts, you are mistaken. If you would like an education, please feel free to find me tonight. I would be happy to enlighten you. Good evening.

Pardon me but, I do not believe that our meeting place should be used for a meeting place where one could worship whores and the like. I mean Surely, other's have more important things to do and deal with there than have to wade through a bunch of mindless whore worshiping morons. No offense, but our meeting place is a sanctuary for our orgainization and it doesn't need to be frivolitized by useing it to worship a whore. Just my 2 pennys worth.

I think that we should not take the balor knights head on in combat. it looked to me that the good doctor and Shavis barley survived the encounter that they had with the beasts. Mabey good Sir Hawksley would help in the diplomatic end of things. Violence is never needed when other routes can be folowed.

Hi people. Just wanted to make a public apology to everyone, especially Adam. I feel that it was extremely wrong, unfair, and d'eclasse' of me to make such derogitory remarks about a particular genre or others prefrences there in. I guess Adam just hit a little close to home. Even if he was just joking. Playing in a game where a certain stereotype exists that limits one's roleplaying chances which is further encouraged, even enhanced by the STs is frustrating. However the game we have now has taken what few players we have out of our normal modes of play for that genre. Emphasising the aspects that we always knew were there but were never able to experience because the stereotypical stuff got in the way. We have a Caern of Stealth. Protected by a small pack under a totem of Honor. Pyle and Mike have set the stage for an AWESOME GAME!!! They have taken their players out of their normal habits and pathways and put them in a position where they can experience new things and in doing so have found a powerful tool in encouraging roleplaying. As characters we are in a position where any battle we engage in makes our ultimate task at hand that much more difficult. Mike and Pyle have shown aspects of truly great STs. The genre still holds the fun and facination it did from the beginning even though neither is able to come and we experienced an ST change. I don't believe this was accidental and even if they are not with the LARP come time for LARPies I feel they should be nominated. Just wanted to say sorry one last time and thanks for your efforts in making it fun guys.

One last thing. Part of the fae game on saturday will be you guys having court and deciding on positions for everyone. We'll be going over this stuff at teh game, but I figured it would be useful to post it now. In typical fae society, a freehold is governed by a baron (or a count in some cases, but counts usually have baronies under them). Freeholds also typically have households which oversee the affairs of the freehold. Things like a seneschal, a reeve, a jester, as well as various other positions like cooks, guards, etc. Not every position has to be filled, but it would be a good idea for at least some of the core ones to be held by people. I'd suggest looking over the changeling main rule book or the shining host for basic descriptions of what everything does, and consider what positions, if any, your characters will be interested in. As I said, we'll go over the basics of this stuff again at LARP, but it would be helpful if people had some backround beforehand.
John the Pirate - Friday, November 17, 2000 at 16:05:10 (EST)
Oh, one other thing. After looking at how we had amended the quicksilver rules and hearing some feedback, we're going to change it again a little bit. From now on, casting quicksilver grants you a number of equivalent levels of celerity for that turn equal to half your fae realm rounded up, rather than just your fae realm. However, you can spend extra glamour to "add" additional levels above this for the turn. This represents the fact that in casting cantrips, putting more juice into them tends to make the casting easier and more effective. Thus, someone with fae 5 would have the equivalent of both basic and the first intermediate level of celerity for the round that they cast quicksilver. If they chose to spend 3 glamour rather than just the 1 required for quicksilver (because its a wyrd effect) then they would have the equivalent of advanced celerity for the turn. Note that you must keep spending the extra glam each turn that you want the extra actions. We figure this makes quicksilver a bit more balanced, but allows for occasional bursts of incredible speed, if you're willing to put all your energy into one big shot.

Hey everyone!
I know I havnt been to LARP in awile and probably WONT be to LARP for awile but I had to share one little comment about the Werewolf genre. Simply put, people are having FUN with it. Isnt that why we play this game anyway? The reason Mike and I fought to restart it is to bring back old players and give people a choice of what to play. Would you rather have people who are tired of playing vampire leave LARP entirely? Werewolf gives the players a choice which is very iportant in these days. How would you guys feel if oue ONLY choice for a president was Bush? or Gore? So this arguement isnt about which genre you like better, everyone has their personnal favorites. It is about the game in general and in my opinion choice is always good for a LARP game. Hope everyone has fun Saturday!

I think everyone has their own opinions about which genre is best... which genre they like... which genre they hate. However, Adam has constantly had to openly and public shoot down a game that he obviously doesn't know anything about. Opinions are fine, but my god! Is it really necessary to constantly be taking potshots at the game on this forum? No. We all know your opinion Adam. Why don't you keep it to yourself from now on. So you don't like the game...get over it! Thanks for the indulgence folks. :)

Seems I have to say a few things: The board is a mixed in/out of character area. In character it is public and unprotected. I remember having this debate about 6 months ago. This arrangement allows any of the characters to post on the board, I personnaly think it would suck otherwise. This means that the order of the day is euphamisms. As for the debate about the quality of the W.W. game. I've been very public about my opinion of that genre (Icky, Bad), but this really isn't the forum for this kind of discussion. Keep it to private e-mail please. (*whisper* I think the sabbat is best to play) Hmmm, how many shovels whould that take?

The Werewolf game we have now at fortress is the best I have ever been in. We are not out fighting the wyrm 24/7. Hell!! The vampires out number the werewolves at least 5 to 1. Any thing that is along the lines of combat is charcter genenrated. We have individuals that have goals a little too combat orientated and as a result they are paying for it in game with punishments from their sept and pack and out of game with loss of intrest in the direction the game is going. You can't shake the spiritual aspect of the game if you wanted to but in our game vampires, NPC or other wise, have more pull with the spirits than all of our werewolves combined as evident in the graveyard alone. Pack mentality is good if it actualy works. We have people with minds of their own dragging the rest of us along and hopefuly coming around to thinking of thier pack mates. The werewolf genre has it's bad side but when it comes down to it you know that you are not alone, you know that your buddy next to you is going to protect your life like it was his own, you know you are going to be backed up because it's the only way you can survive, you know your duties and responsibilites, you know the chain of command, you know what you can do if you don't like or agree with any of it, and you know what the punishment is if you do. The boredom that some may feel with werewolf is the straight shooting honorable fraternity against the odds that I simply adore. As for your vampire game I'm sure the politics and intrigue is someones cup of tea but to me just seems like 5 hours of dressing up in drab colored clothing, acting anksty, and being parinoid.

If you're gonna say I have my head up my ass, put your name down so we can all see that whoever you are, you're a big baby, who can't handle the fact that the game of the big fuzzy anti-vampire machines sucks... I mean isn't for everyone. If you're such a big Werewolf fan, you'd know, whoever you are, it's impossible for a Fianna Galliard to sit in the corner with his head where the sun doesn't shine - that character led moots in rites, and I did it by the book. If you're such a great fan you'd put your name down so we can all appreciate your faith in the game. Also, ignorance is different than being opinionated. Would spirituality being separated really be that big a deal? Well, that depends on the ST. The ST didn't force it on us, that's a reason a lot of us enjoyed that game before it descended into combative situations. Also, the comment about the Bastet should have been taken with a grain of salt as it was a joke. I mean most of us are adults(to a certain extent at least).
Adam - Thursday, November 09, 2000 at 09:53:06 (EST)
Adam, you continually show your ignorance everytime you open your mouth to slam werewolf. Trying to seperate the spirtual aspect from werewolf is like trying to seperate the political aspect from vampire. You can't do it. It's integral to the game. Clearly, you may have played for 3 months, but you probably had your head up your ass the whole time.
Werewolf Fan - Thursday, November 09, 2000 at 03:56:12 (EST)
Just a note about the posts on the board. I beleive the most current ruling is that IC, the board is a secure posting area. To post IC, your character has to at least have 1 in the Computer ability. If this ruling has changed, please let us know, John.

Alex, I have played a Shapeshifter consistently in the past. Granted, it wasn't at Fortress, but it was every weekend for a summer. For 3 months, all we did was fight wyrmspawn - BSD's, vampires, fomor, etc. The ST was as experienced with White Wolf games as any gamer I've known and liked Werewolf more than any other game, so that wasn't the problem. I did NOT have a good time aside from spending time with my friends. I've heard people like playing Werewolf for the (required)spiritual aspect. Well, this is like saying public school would be better if prayer was instituted, thats debatable, not to mention Unconstitutional(GO VOTE PEOPLE!!!). Then there's the pack mentality point. Hmm, the Sabbat do the same thing. What about inter-tribe politics? I can get that with vampire... or Changling(inter-kith, Seelie vs. Unseelie). The point is, I DO NOT enjoy playing Werewolf, and I likely will never like it. The same for Mage. I don't like the premise of Werewolf - serve Gaia unquestionably and hunt the Wyrm. There's simply more depth to Vampire.

I was cordial the first time, Lazarus, now I'm annoyed. Why don't you stick to Masquerade problems - LIKE THE BABY FOOTBALL THE SABBAT WAS PLAYING - which is your job and leave tradition enforcement to the Keeper of Elysium, Seneschal, and Prince, two of whom I've contacted. As for my haven, any Nosferatu that would like to visit is free to do so. Also, the tradition of hospitality does imply that the guest announce himself prior to arriving. If you want to continue whining about my lack of observing protocal, do it privately. We don't need to waste server memory on you.

You claim to invoke the tradition of domain, while simultaneously ignoring the tradition of hospitality. "When thou comest to a foreign city, tho shalt present thyself to the one who ruleth there. Without the word of acceptance, thou art nothing." You Mr. Roach are nothing, you are not acknowledged, you are not scourge. Therefore you have no right to claim domain. Also I'm fairly certain that you are not the only member of your clan to reside in the sewers. Therefore even if you were an acknowledged member of this city you would not be able to claim the whole sprawl as your haven. I find your lack of understanding of our traditions, VERY disturbing. Lastly, an individual kindred's haven is his Domain, the sewer is my haven.

Questioning? I would expect nothing less. You're doing your job, very reasonable with the last weekend's events. Now, Mr. Cochran, I assure you I have no ill intent to the Domain. You will see this on Saturday. Honorable Prince Asserax stated the Domain was in need of a Scourge and no one stepped forward... other than myself. Lastly, an individual kindred's haven is his Domain, the sewer is my haven.

I wonder if our enemy bothers to miss the ones they lose. I certainly wont mourn for them. I just wish they weren't so damn sneaky, like roaches. Never-the-less my specialty is investigation now a days so hopefully it wont take us too long to sniff out the rest of them, however distasteful having to smell them may be. Excellent job to those who stood their ground! Next time will come soon enough.

Roach, I believe you have allready oversteped your bounds. You have not even presented yourself in the city and you've allready claimed position, and domain. Perhaps you should try speaking to your clans primogen. You are in violation of the tradition of domain, and your threats of destruction are unnacaptable. You will present yourself to the Prince, and to myself, the sherrif on november 11th for questioning.

*Reading through Laws of the Wild: Chanling Breeds 1:* This doesn't make any sense. All but three of the Bastet could whoop a Garou's booty, but... they look for secrets and information?! Could this actually be a group of shifters who have some substance? They don't just go looking for wyrmspawn to kill... they have other motivations too?! Gadzooks!
